Akimoto Yae is a cheerful - and sometimes exceedengly loud - girl who secretly always watches her sempai Ayase, who rides the same train as her. For some reason, Ayase always sits in the same seat, holding the same book, opened at the same page. His hands never try to turn to the next page. One day, Ayase accidentally drops the book, which comes as a chance for Akimoto to talk to him. Much to her surprise, he isn't interested in having the book returned, and gives it to her. As Akimoto tries to overcome her mild aversion for printed texts - which causes her to sleep if she doesn't read the lines aloud - and read the book, she hopes to get closer to Ayase, who has reasons of his own to be aloof.

A great summer storm has just passed through a small town by the sea. On the silver sands beneath the high azure sky lay scattered the debris washed ashore the previous night. And there is also a surprise awaiting the group of friends gathering curious objects there – a young girl named Chouko. She is local and even though she is not sure what happened to her, she remembers the little sleepy town very well… the way it was over eighty years ago.
Impressed by a vase she saw in the hallway, Mokako decided to join the pottery club so she could meet the person who made it. There she meets the artist, Shuri, and she teaches Mokako pottery. It isn't long, however, before Mokako starts hearing rumors about Shuri and the things she's done with past members of the pottery club.

The main character (the blonde ponytailed guy - yeah, guy) is Aramiya Satoshi, who main ability is shapeshifting into any animal ...though at a few points he has plants growing out of him, so my guess is he can shapeshift into any living thing (including an elephant and a lion) I'm not sure if he was naturally born that way or if he was a biological experiment. Anyway, he's a pretty easygoing guy who just wants to be left alone to enjoy his solitary life in the middle of a junkyard, but apparently some army or another is always after him because of his ability, though he is able to fight off entire tank battalions before breakfast.
